Hey Dolls,
I feel like I haven't done a restaurant review in a while so here goes! I have been hearing so many great reviews about the new do it yourself sushi restaurant and have been wanting to try it out. It's called "How Do You Roll?" Cool name huh!?!?
So there's an assembly line that sort of reminds me of how you place an order at Subway. The guy making my roll was very nice and informative being that I was somewhat of a sushi novice.

I'm a bit of a sushi newbie, having only tried the Dynamite Roll at different Japanese restaurants. Sushi just never seemed appetizing to me but knowing that I could customize the roll to my liking at this place made it more appeasing.
I love how colorful everything is. Very clean too, that's always good!

You start by choosing the type of roll you want, Seaweed or Modern Soy. I stuck to the seaweed wrap but he did mention the soy wrap has no flavor and cost $1 more. Then you have a choice between white or brown rice, I chose brown rice. Next you get to add veggies (cream cheese counts as a veggie). I got cream cheese, avacado, and asparagus. Next you have a choice of protein (salmon, lobster, crawfish, chicken, beef, etc.) I chose crawfish. Lastly, you have a choice of several different toppings. I went with fish sauce and spicy mayo. I didn't care for the spicy mayo so I only used the fish sauce which was delicious.
To my surprise, I got some extras because it was happy hour. I chose the Miso Soup which was quite tasty. It had tofu bits and green onion my fav!
I took my roll to go and indulged in the comfort of my home with a nice chilled glass of Cupcake Moscato!!!
I have to admit, I really enjoyed customizing my own sushi and it tasted great. I will most definitely be back for more. Talk to you all soon!

ReplyDeleteI love sushi, had some for lunch today. There is a cute little sushi place right down the walk way from where I work. Sounds like a great place, give people a chance to try sushi their way first before diving in all the way!! :-)

ReplyDeleteI am a sushi lover here, and I have never seen a place like this before. I love the idea of crafting your own rolls. Did they have raw fish too, or was everything cooked?
