A Lesson On Kente Cloth

Hey Dolls,

Im so happy that I found a background that looks nicer that the inside walls of my school to take pictures!  It's definitely allowing me to be more consistent with my posts!  Here is my work OOTD!  I love the top because it reminds me of Kente Cloth.

Please note that this top is definitely NOT Kente Cloth.  It just reminds me of it.  For those of you wanting to know what authentic Kente Cloth looks like, here is a picture below

Here's a little history behind this beautiful handwoven cloth that originates from Africa.  Though the cloth is accessible to many now due to the use of printing machines, it was originally reserved for  royalty and only worn during special events and sacred ceremonies.  As a matter of fact the authentic form of the cloth is still regarded as a symbol of social prestige and nobility.

I FELL IN LOVE with these AFRO EARRINGS the moment I first saw them.  Aren't they the cutest thing?  I bought them and the received the green bracelet as a gift, from Unique Boutique online.

The top and pants are from Ross and I rocked the outfit with Luichiny strappy sandals I bought via MJM Designer shoes.  Hope you like!

Talk to you all soon!
