Sunday's Best: "Have I told You I love you? Lately?"

Hello Lovelies,

I'm back with a Sunday's Best post!  The message was pretty awesome so I just had to share.  The message focused on how we can show our love to others.  The background scripture came from 2 Corinthians 6:3-13 and our pastor gave us 3 main points on how we can express love to one another.

1.) Avoid being offensive (2Cor6:3)
I'm sure we've all been told or have used the phrase "It's not what you say, it's how you say it".  This includes sarcasm which I'll be the first to admit I use quite often.

We can easily offend others with our words.  Be mindful not only of the things you say, but how you say them.  We can also offend others with our actions.  We've got to learn to "practice what we preach".  For example, there's no use in telling a child how unhealthy smoking is and that they should not do it and you smoke in front of them daily.

2.) Attend to the needs of others (2Cor6:6)
This one is simple, specially around this time of year.   Be thoughtful.  Think of others and their needs.  Be understanding, patient, and kind.  I always loved this acronym that our pastor uses:  the way we can attain true JOY is by putting Jesus first, Others next, then Yourself.  If you need some suggestions on how to attend to others here are a few:
*  Volunteer some of your time within your community.
*  Donate food to your city food bank
* Get a group together to sing Christmas Carols at a nursing home

3.)   Speak your Love To Others (Proverbs 13:12)
With this new age of technology, people don't talk on the phone as much as they use to.   Because of this, we don't really "hear"  the words "I love you" as much as we use to.  Proverbs 13:12 says  "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life". Can you imagine how many people in the world are longing just to hear those 3 little words from someone.  The 2 points above were ways we can show our love but don't forget to speak your love as well
With that being said....
Love ya dolls!

Have a great week.
