My dear friend Krystle LOVES LOVES LOVES sushi. Every single time the choice is hers as to where we should go to eat, her response is "I could eat sushi!". With that being said, the last time she was here to visit, I mentioned Bento Cafe for some sushi and Pan-Asian cuisine.
Bento means "boxed-meal" in Japanese which is exactly what they serve here, authentic Asian cuisine that's fast, and cooked to order. Great alternative for your typical fast foods! Interestingly enough, each Bento restaurant is decorated in either blue or red dragons. We went to the Bento Blue because at the time this was the only one in town. However, the Bento Red opened this week so I will certainly make a trip there soon.
Here's what we had to eat:
Strawberry Boba Tea: This was my first time trying Boba Tea and it wasn't bad at all once I got use to the tapioca pearls at the bottom. There were so many, it became overwhelming but the drink itself was good and refreshing. It reminded me of a milk shake!
Dynamite #2 Sushi Roll: This roll was tempura fried with crab, shrimp, avacado, cucumber, masago, and spicy sauce. It was just O.K. to me. In fact I was a little disappointed in the lack of flavor and the fact that I had to pay extra for the shrimp sauce to dip it in.
Chicken Udon Stir Fry Noodles: This was Krystle's noodle bowl. She said the ginger-scallion flavors were pretty good. Her only complaint was the thickness of the noodles.
Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience at Bento "Blue" and would certainly return. I'm looking forward to visiting the new Bento "Red" location in the near future!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
Be back soon!
XOXO
