I think I have been completely asleep on Cato Fashions. They have some really great pieces that are perfect for work! If you're not familiar with Cato Fashions, they are a leading retailer of women's fashion and accessories and there is a new one coming to Bolton Plaza in Jacksonville early 2017!
I hadn't been to Cato in years but recently stopped by one in the neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised by all of the attire I could wear to work! Remember us "Teachers Have Style Too"! As a matter of fact, these pictures were taken at school! There were several trendy pieces, staple pieces, accessories, and shoes for women of all sizes. The best part was the affordable prices.
Cato reached out to me and was generous in sending me a gift card and I had a hard time picking something! There were lots to choose from. If you're looking for something to wear to a Christmas dinner or a New Year's Eve party, they currently have several fun and sparkly dresses that would be perfect for the occasion. In my attempt to shop for work, my final decision was to purchase this really cute top! I loved how the drawstrings cinched in my waist!

Hi Dolls!
With the school year coming to a close, it is getting harder and harder to put any effort into dressing nice for work, let's just be real! Hitting the snooze button 5 times every morning is becoming the norm and the mad rush to get dressed and out of the house in time has been a real struggle. However, if you follow my Instagram (here), you may have seen that I was recently featured in this school year's yearbook as the "Best Dressed" female teacher! What an honor right! Especially knowing how us teachers traditionally get a bad rap for having no dress code! With that being said, I decided to make sure I dress nicely for the rest of the school year! I would hate for anyone to be like "That's who got best dressed?" haha!
Soooo... to be completely honest with you, this morning I was rushing, yet again, and grabbed the first thing I put my hands on! I didn't even put on a watch, which is a must for me! My arm felt naked all day! However, my eyes landed on these shoes!
I have had these fabulous oxfords for almost two years and have never worn them. I know right! I normally wear a regular pair of black flats with this top but I decided to spice things up a bit a threw on these! The next time I wear this I'm going to throw on a colorful necklace to brighten up the look!
This outfit is a little "matchy-matchy" with the shoes matching the top and the shoulders matching the pants but hey, this look for school was perfect! To my surprise, the oxfords were really comfy and I received tons of compliments! I really can't tell you why I've never worn them before but now that I have, I can think of plenty more outfits to throw together to get more wear out of these baddies!
Teacher's SideNote: As I reflect on this school year, it has been one of the best year's to date! It helps that the school I'm at is pretty awesome from the faculty down to the students!
Ok, back to this look! I added my new favorite sunnies here because as you can see, the good ole' Florida sun is out and shining brighter than ever. I really, really LOVE these shades! I talked about my obsession with them here. You should totally go back and read about it!
As summer break nears, I'm thinking about all of the fun, light and bright clothes I want to wear. I don't know about you but when it's scorching outside, all I want to put on are dresses and rompers because they're no-fuss and are always cute and in a large variety of styles and colors! What are your favorite things to throw on during the hot summer months?

As most may already know, fall and winter are probably my favorite times of year which is easy for me to profess considering I live in Florida where the seasons tend to mesh together. Nevertheless, I love when the weather starts to cool down and I'm able to wear boots and layers! In some cases, getting dressed is more fun during this time of year in my opinion! Let's take these booties for example....FAB right?!?!
These babies were the inspiration for my look! I don't know about you all but the first thing I notice is someone's shoes and then I work my way up. I try not to appear too obvious when staring at someones feet in shoe admiration.
You know they say leopard print is a neutral so I thought it was the perfect shoe and accessory for this outfit which is why I chose this necklace to compliment the heels! TJMaxx has some really amazing jewelry! Every time I wear this necklace people think I purchased it from Baublebar.
The rest of the look started as a casual weekend look with the jeans and gingham shirt but I wanted to add a little more pizzazz and threw on the pink vest and out the door I went!
I have to admit that I love the vest trend. It really adds character to an otherwise simple outfit. This one isn't too puffy so it doesn't add too much bulk to your overall look but the puffy ones are just as fabulous!

Leopard Booties and Pink Vests!

Some may wonder if jeans are appropriate for a teacher to wear to school and I would say not as an everyday staple. As teachers, it's definitely important for us to look professional at all times. Most principals reserve a business casual, jeans and a polo kind of day for Fridays. However, you could totally get away with wearing a chambray shirtdress to work on a Monday!
I love this dress, first because it's chambray and come on, who doesn't love a chambray dress, but secondly for the ever so subtle high-low cut! Bet you didn't even notice, did ya? It's long enough to be worn as a dress and if you're feeling froggy, you can get away with rocking it with some pants as well.
I added a statement necklace......
...and a pop of red with the wedges.
(RED always looks great with denim!)
And there you have it! A cute, fuss-free, comfortable, teacher appropriate look for the day!

Stones like unforgiveness, jealousy, depression, envy, pride, bitterness, and the list goes on. I lost a good friend to cancer yesterday and as I reflect on the message we heard in church last Sunday, life is definitely too short to hold on to these things. Bring your stones to God and let him move them out of the way. It was a very timely message and one that I won't soon forget.

I really love the denim on denim trend. There is something so casual chic about the look. With this look, it creates the basis for a lot of other looks like layering with a sweater or lots jewelry. This time I kept it pretty basic with just the denim. I actually wore this look for Thanksgiving and never posted it. (Shame on me) This top was part of the Toms for Target collection a while back and it so happened to match a pair of chambray slacks I already had.
