So...did you know that the Bible has a theme park???? Yep! Sure does! In sunny Orlando, FL of course, right off of I-4. It's called the
Holy Land Experience.
Now as many times as I've been to Orlando and took the very same exit to this park to go to The Mall at Millenia and IKEA, you would think that my curiosity as to the what the beautiful golden building to the right is, would've gotten the best of me. Well, my aunt and uncle came to Orlando to tour the Disney parks with their grandchildren and I decided to drive up and spend a day with them. We went to the Holy Land Experience.Holy Land Experience.
I had heard mixed reviews about the park prior to going but I am glad that I was able to experience it for myself. Though some of the decorations could have been nicer, I was truly blessed by the live shows. The first show was called "The Legna" which is angel spelled backwards. It was a great story focusing on the scripture about how we should be careful about how we entertain stranger because they may be angels. I was especially moved by "The Passion/We Shall Behold Him", a 70 min. theatrical production depicting the "agony, death, resurrection, and glorious return" of Jesus. I wish I had more pictures to show but, I took pics on my phone that day and for some strange reason the USB cord for my phone isn't working...hmmm.....interesting (sounds like someone is busy again #advesary) so what I want you to do is please click on this link to take you to their official website where you can get a better idea of what this place was all about.
This dress I'm wearing is from my favorite maxi dress store, Ross!
Inspirational Daily Challenges:
At the beginning of July, the lovely Missez B of Random Bites of a Sweet Life started an inspirational Daily Challenge for the remainder of the year. She wrote down 184 positive things you can do for yourself and/or for others. Each day she randomly chooses one of the challenges. I decided to play along. I was late getting on board so I will do 10 that I completed from July and try my very best to keep you all up to date on the challenges at the end of each week from here on out. She would love for anyone else interested to join the challenge. Ok, here goes:
July:
(In no particular order...)
1.) Challenge # 9: Pray for someone: Easy, done.(In no particular order...)
2.) Challenge #4: Write a poem about someone and give it to them:
I texted my sweetie a quick poem that I made up lol! I'm not gonna let you read all the gushy stuff.
He liked it! "OGAC" is a humorous acronym for something we call each other. It's very endearing. Love that man of mine!
3.) Challenge # 22: Hug Someone: Last Friday I drove down to visit one of besties and we hugged once I got to her house! I LOVE hugs! 4.) Challenge # 24: Go to bed early tonight: Last Wednesday I was so pooped I laid across my bed around 9:45ish and fell asleep. I was awaken around 4:30am by all of the lights in my room that were still on, room light, TV, nightstand. I turned off all the lights and fell right back to sleep.
5.) Challenge #7: Take a Picture of Someone: This was in a mall and I was so amused I had to sneak and snap this picture! LOL!
6.) Challenge # 8: Do 20 Sit-Ups: I have been doing a Boot Camp workout for the last few weeks and our instructor makes us do a ridiculous amount of sit-ups and ab exercises. Planks are concentrated evil!
7.) Challenge # 10: Drink at least 3 cups of water: I've been drinking at least a liter and a half of water daily since I started bootcamp.
8.) Challenge # 15: Look for an old picture of yourself that's at least 10 yrs. old: Me and one of my good friends from high school at the prom.
9.) Challenge #20: Cloud gaze for a few minutes: On my way home from visiting my friend, I did a lot of cloud gazing. I remember trying to find images in the clouds as a kid and I had the opportunity to do the same thing this time. I saw a cloud that resembled Santa Claus.
10.) Challenge #31: Wave to a stranger: The other day I was walking up towards a restaurant to grab some lunch and a lady and I met eyes, I smiled at her and she waved to me. That counts huh? :)
That was fun! If you want in on these cool challenges, visit Missez B's blog and join in! I'll be back at the end of the week with my challenges for the first few days in August.
Talk to you all soon!
